Chrill

Let's.

Hello, I am Chrill. I'm 26 years old and I work as a Customer Relations Application Specialist. This fancy title is fancy, but that's about it. What I do is, I make the systems better for the people working in customer relations. Apart from that, I live in Stockholm Sweden with my fiancé and a 17 year old cat. He's very old.

I've been following F1 since I was a kid, but followed it a lot more closely the last 12-13 years. Big Ferrari fan, big Schumacher fan, also I am clearly hot for Felipe Masa. Lately, I've had to support Marcus Ericsson because we share nationality and the last Swede in F1 left back in 1991. DU GAMLA DU FRIA DU FJÄLLHÖGA NORD.

My interests include Formula 1 (no way!), pub quizzes and trivia in general, and vidya games. I play a lot of OpenTTD. On ze Xbox One, you may find me under the name ChristopherRe91.

Hello there!

I've been told my reddit karma is embarassing this place. Then I see I'm not even in this place, so clearly that needed to be fixed. Feel free to be offended by my presence, now. Nice to see this place is still alive, btw.

I've been here before, though. Some of you might remember me. Not much to say, I sort of stopped following F1 mostly. At first because it was getting more and more lame and boring (that was around 2014), then because there's no ehm, legal way to watch F1 for me anymore. Tried to follow Formula E a bit, only managed to watch one race (the final race of 2015-16 season), which was great, and Turvey seemed kinda cool, especially because that Chinese team had awesome livery (I see Jaguar has even awesomer livery now). But somehow that was it. I do follow F1 now only as much as the official YouTube channel tells me, it looks like it's getting better, would probably watch a race or two if I could.

Chrill

Ah, my dear Bober. Good to see you again.

Go watch F1 illegally then. Nobody minds. I'll stream the races for you!

Penfold

Hello me ol' mucker, it's been a while.

Best season of F1 for some years; not only are the cars wider, lower, and faster, but we have a genuine fight between two teams... well, between Vettel & Mercedes anyway - and with Red Bull playing catch up.

Kimi is catching Vettel too, at least in quali. 3-3 in the last 6 races. Should've finished ahead in both Monaco and Hungaroring, too  ;D

Although in Hungary only because Seb's car was knackered from the start.

I turned 30 yesterday! My wife had got all my friends together to contribute to a pretty neat gift:

An F1 weekend at a venue of my choosing!

I'm looking at Silverstone, but the circuit itself is so very rural so I'm not sure how easy it will be to get to and from the circuit, not to mention what I will do in the evenings for dinner etc.

How about Monza? Barcelona? Barcelona likely won't be around in 2022 (I mean, hopefully) but if it is then that could prove a reasonable circuit. Easy to travel, if nothing else.

Indy, obviously. When it replaces COTA.

Chrill

Or I could just go to Indy to see the 500. I mean, if I go there then that's the race to attend.

Matt

More Swedes anyway. Could even be three next season.

I want to go to the 500 sometime, but I don't think I would want to go regularly. Dealing with an event with 300,000+ people doesn't really appeal to me.

Chrill

Agreed. It's one of those bucket list things for a motorsport fan though. Should attend it at least once.

In other news, I've narrowed down my 2022 F1 trip to two venues:
Zandvoort (due to ease of travelling to Amsterdam)
Monaco (due to being based in Nice which honestly isn't that expensive)

The Monaco tickets are ridiculously pricey but the rest of the experience is not, so it could still be within budget. Monaco isn't a spectacular race as such, but it's the essence of F1. And seeing cars that close to the wall will still be spectacular.

Zandvoort. I've opted for Zandvoort. Two reasons!

1: Easy access from Stockholm to Amsterdam, with many daily flights
2: Train connection right to central Amsterdam from the airport, and on to the circuit
3: The money saved on tickets compared to Monaco can go into getting a really nice hotel room

Why not stay at a 5 star hotel suite when attending F1? That seems nice. ;D I'll stand out in Ferrari Rosso Corsa when everyone else is orange for Max, but that's OK.
