Oscar Piastri likely to slot into Williams for 2023, perhaps with a new engine deal included?

Australia remains on the grid until at least 2035, that's a long time! During that time, they will host the opener five times including 2024 and 2025.

Who knew actually caring about the championship battle was painful? Ferrari can't finish races, suddenly Red Bull is the reliable one.

With Ericsson winning the Indy 500, I saw several people immediately pitching him as a replacement for Latifi at Williams, Zhou at Alfa Romeo, or Ricciardo at McLaren.

Ericsson is firmly shutting speculation down in Swedish media today:

(Translated version here)

When asked about an F1 return:
"- No, I love this. Everyone asks that question, but I've lived in Indianapolis for 3.5 years now and I want to stay as long as possible."

According to my simulations, not that much more than today. Maybe 290 in qualifying, 280 in race.

My simulations, of course, is me guessing at random.

In regards to Monaco. Charles Leclerc suggested turning left before the tunnel to give us a longer straight and create an opportunity for overtaking. I obliged.

The yellow is the current layout, the red is my suggestion including Charles' long run. I also added an orange to further extend and further give a higher speed passage. It skips the Fairmont/Loews/Hotel hairpin, so virtually impossible to get approval.

Nobody does shooting themself in the foot quite like Ferrari....
It's the national sport of Italy, coupled with electing playboys to high office.

Let's get started, huh?

Schumacher to Aston Martin as a potential replacement for Vettel, who looks set to retire:
https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/111516/schumacher-top-of-aston-martin-s-list-to-succeed-vettel.html

Another young talent, Alonso, could also be a potential successor for Vettel, if the German veteran retires:
https://www.planetf1.com/news/fernano-alonso-linked-aston-martin/

This in turn would make room at Alpine for Piastri, who honestly must be in F1 next season. Piastri is linked to Alpine, of course, but also to Williams:

Vips will fulfil one of Red Bull's two mandated junior FP1 outings this year, as will De Vries for Williams. Kubica will also drive for Alfa Romeo, but this does not count toward their 2 junior outings since, well, he's a former Grand Prix driver.

That is a relief, frankly. Instead of double triple-headers, we will have one triple header followed by two weeks off before a more regular double header.
